Day 13: I'm sick.
Good morning/afternoon, all!
I would like to begin by saying WELCOME to the beginning of my Daily Blogging! I am so excited to share the small stories of each day with you :-)
I'm writing this post from the comfort of my own bed as I am ILL. I think that my body decided that it is time for me to take a break after 12 days of constantly running around, stressing out, and exploring the town. Yesterday, I was feeling pretty bad, so I shuffled to the closest grocery store in sweats and a T-shirt (a fashion faux pas here in Madrid) and purchased my emergency "get-well" supplies: soup, honey, tissues, and orange juice. I swear by my methods; and although I may regret drinking 1 liter of orange juice yesterday, I am feeling much better today! Just to be safe, I'm making today a peaceful, yet productive, laundry day.
I suppose now would also be a good time to tell you about my new roommates. I moved into a newly renovated apartment so everyone is new and (hopefully) open to making friends! I have roommates representing Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.S. In this piso we speak Spanish, French, German, American Sign Language (myself and another girl from Texas!), Swiss, Italian, and English! The diversity in nationality and culture is incredible and I am SO very excited to learn more.
Not to mention, I met many of my roommates while sick and they all either made me tea, gave me Swiss remedies and American medicine, or just sat and chatted with me. The kindness is real!
I feel very blessed to have everything falling into place. I am thankful to have a roof over my head and an awesome support group. Now, I just need to regain my strength.
Have a great day :-) Don't forget to take a breather and drink some OJ.
